Grand Serenade | New 12" EP

Good things to those who wait right? If so, this one pays off in spades. Six songs that sees the band opening up the songs to include more mountains of guitar, more great melodies, more memorable tunes. We love this band and couldn't be happier to see them still making music together. Here's when it all goes down...

The Moving Front | New Album + Show Info

It's been a long time coming, but it's landed. Everyday Dissonance is here. So many guitar players, practice spaces, etc. Was it all worth it? In a word [or 2], hell yes. There's the terse, angular sounds that are at the core of the MF sound but there's also much much more. A shambolic dub / island vibe pops its head in and out to major effect, a smattering of horns, even a blue eyed ballad. Does it feel overstuffed? Nope. Feels like a classic to us, can't wait to see what you guys think. The band's busy getting prepped to start presenting the record out & about. Here's some chances to catch them in the next few weeks:

9/25 - White Water Tavern [Record Release with Velvet Kente & Magic Hassle]
10/7 - Vino's [all ages with Ted Leo & The Reds]
10/30 - White Water Tavern

For Luke | Collected Thoughts

It's been a rough week here in Little Rock for fans, friends & family of Luke Hunsicker. No hyperbole: Luke was loved and respected by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sydney, Luke's family and all of the friends who had the pleasure of his company. Alot of collected thoughts & remembrances on Luke have surfaced this week. Here's a few links for anyone who missed out on his story [Arkansas Times, Tumblr, etc.].Mulehead | Reunion For 2 NightsThe rumors are true. The sweet sounds of Mulehead are happening again over two nights later this month. Details still unspooling on this one, but there's a presale on tickets going on over at the Last Chance Recordssite now. Grab 'em up.

The Reds | WTSS

The summer jams continue this week with the great second effort from The Reds. We'd been happily wrapping our heads around this new batch of songs since they handed them in to us back in May. The clouds truly broke at the Riverfest perfomance and we haven't heard the band the same since. Strikingly spare with the trio dropping in just the right stuff at just the right time. Click the album art to the left to preview it via iTunes or follow hereto pick up the disc.

Chino Horde | 2xLP Here Now

We mentioned months & months back about a hookup that occured via the European leg of the Towncraft rollout. Filmaker & friend Richard Matson spent some time tromping thru Germany with Robert Schulze of the Adagio 830 label. Turns out Robert was a fan of CH and interested in reissueing some of our music on vinyl. So over the course of many many emails, the band sorted through what a proper CH lp retrospective might look like, what music it should include, etc. Anyways, long story short - it's here & we're very proud of it. It's a double, gatefold lp [limited number on white wax] with all of the audio remastered. LP1 is the reissued album in its entirety, while LP2 has songs we picked as standouts [some previously released, some not]. We've got a few copies that we're helping sell in the US. Click HEREto purchase it. The full tracklist goes like this:

Side 1: Undone & Over, Natural, Twenty-Seven, Paul
Side 2: Arson, Silo, Composite, Donor
Side 3: Noise, Prelude, Too-Edged, You Stole It All, Composite
Side 4: Feels Like Leaving, Shut Hands, This Is Done, Silo [live]

Jason White | Debut Single

Max returns to its vinyl roots with Jason White's debut 45 single - "Hungover" b/w "I'm A Mess". A potent cocktail of Rockpile charm and Westerberg-ian swagger and stomp. Head hereto go ahead and pick up the limited run vinyl version [which includes a digital download card]. Otherwise, the songs will go onsale at all digital stores next Tuesday [7/13].

Max Via Chicago | The AB

Max usually keeps plenty busy documenting what we can right here in Arkansas, but the exception does occur. Such is the case with the new [and first!] one from Chicago's Avenue Boulevard. Hoisting the flag on this one is none other than LR expat, Steve Schmidt [of the late great Jetjangua, and Chino Horde to mention just a few]. Anyways, we give you four songs from Avenue Boulevard that are both hooky & dissonant. We love 'em alot and think you might as well. Great artwork to boot! Click the "Thriller" image to the left to grab the songs via iTunes.

Dragoon | Pitchfork Review

Pitchfork's taking notice of the Dragoon record with a favorable review this morning.
