Avenue Boulevard

Of course any project from Steve Schmidt [of the long ago Little Rock band Chino Horde] is going to be near and dear to us. The same could be said of Steve Sackett [of the long ago Chicago greats, 8 Bark]. The fact that these guys found each other so many years on is just sweet sweet justice.

The cacophony that Avenue Boulevard muster is no real suprise, the pedigree is already in place. Steve Schmidt has always been a daredevil genius. The quality and spirit of the songs on this debut ep is the real treat though. Barn burner "Got That Call", the dirge of "Frustration Frustration" - it's all so so good.

Our fingers remain crossed that there's more of this stuff to come.
